Legislature passes a law criminalizing LGBTQ sexuality with the penalty of life imprisonment and the death penalty for homosexual sex with a minor. Homosexual sex is already illegal in the country. The law also makes it illegal to advocate for LGBTQ sexuality. President Museveni must sign the law, and he has opposed homosexuality in the past. However, western businesses and nonprofits may withdraw funding because of the law.
